FACULTY / STAFF
Mrs. Pat Farrell
Spiritual Formation & Librarian
Welcome to my Website,
St. James families and visitors!
I am pleased to introduce myself as the Director of Spiritual Formation at St. James School. This is a wonderful position as I work with the students, teachers and parish staff to bring Christ, present today, to your children and family.
We do this through use of “Finding God” (Loyola press) as our basic religion program; presenting age appropriate retreats (pre-K- thru grade 8!!) and many other faith building activities. But the best part of this position is the opportunity to work with you, your children and my wonderful colleagues.
My credentials include: Lay Ecclesial Minister for the Archdiocese of Chicago, a certified Spiritual Director from the Institute of Spiritual Leadership (Chicago), Master’s in Religious Education (Loyola University) and 2 other Master’s degrees.
My husband and I are also St. James Parishioners and had the pleasure of being St. James Parents of three children – now young adults.
So you can see, I love being part of St. James!
I look forward to continuing work with you and your children!
First 8th Grade Confirmation Retreat, September 20, 2018
The first of 8th grade Confirmation retreats included a review of the first 6 chapters of Matthew Kelly’s “Decision Point” confirmation program. This is a dynamic Confirmation program that addresses this sacrament in terms that meaningful to our students as they transition to young adulthood, as people of faith. Christina Hudson, Director of Youth Discipleship & Evangelization addressed “Life Choices” and related topics, while Mr. Ben Rahimi, Seminarian, addressed the presence of Jesus in their lives, while Mrs. Farrell, presented the value of prayer and familiarity with Scripture in the students lives. Mrs. Chandler, grade 8 teacher, discussed how these topics form the foundations of continuing relationships.
