Mrs. Mary McDermott

Mrs. McDermott is in her thirteenth year of teaching Band at St. James School! She holds a Masters with Certification Degree in Music Education as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health Education. She creatively encourages our musicians to develop their gift of music to it’s full potential by inviting them to participate in Band, Solo & Ensemble Festival, School Events, Assemblies, Parades, Woodwind, Brass and Percussion Ensembles, and most profoundly in service at the Lutheran Home, Backstretch, Local Mission Trip, Retreats and Music Ministry. She loves to arrange music for our SJ musicians as well! Mrs. McDermott is also active in the Parish and directs the Middle School Ensemble, is a member of the ADORE Team, a 10:00 AM Choir Member, served on the Liturgy Board, was the Interim Director for the Local Mission Trip this past summer, volunteered for the Youth Ministry FUEL and IGNITE Programs including living stations, and taught Religion in the R.E. program. Mrs. McDermott encourages our alumni to stop in for a visit and join in song with their friends in faith at any time!
