ABOUT ME

My name is Emily Frye. I teach two preschool programs here at St. James: Pre-K 3 on Tuesday and Thursday and Pre-K 4 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I graduated from Bradley University with degrees in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. I also recently completed my English as a Second Language endorsement. I originally intended on child psychology, but discovered my love for being in the classroom and went into teaching! This is my 3rd year teaching preschool in the Catholic Schools. I grew up in Arlington Heights and am currently living in Schaumburg. I enjoy cooking, reading, and spending time with my friends and family!

I believe that every child has the right to learn. The early childhood years are particularly important in beginning to instill lifelong values in children. Young children need to be given opportunities in the classroom to actively discover, observe, and explore the world around them. St. James allows children to do this in a faith-based learning environment, where they can grow in their faith and develop their relationship with the Lord. All children learn in different ways and rates, and as an educator, it is my role to use this to inform my instruction in the classroom to make sure each child learns to the best of their ability.
