District 214 Explore Test Results November 2010

The data below summarizes the performance of the 63 St. James School 8th grade students who took the Explore Test in District 214 in November 2010.

The Explore Test is used for placement purposes in District 214. It is a precursor of the ACT and has been used as a reliable predictor of a student's ACT score.

In specific disciplines, data demonstrates:

MATH

• Four-fifths of St. James students scored in the top 95th percentile with 2 students attaining the highest score possible

ENGLISH

• Three-fourths of all St. James students scored in the top 95th percentile with 7 students attaining the highest score possible

SCIENCE

• Two-thirds of St. James students scored in the top 95th percentile with 3 students attaining the highest score possible

READING

• Two-thirds of St. James students scored in the top 95th percentile with 1 student attaining the highest score possible

SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS

• One-third of all St. James students met the District 214 criteria for the Talented Development Program (TDP)
