Thank you for being more vigilant to the parking regulations in the area after learning that the school office has been made aware of potentially dangerous parking going on at pick up. Please remember that state law indicates the following regarding parking a vehicle: NO PARKING
  •   In front of a public or private driveway
  •   Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
  •   Within 20 feet of a fire station driveway or crosswalk at an intersection
  •    Within 30 feet of a STOP sign, YIELD sign or traffic control signal

Also, be aware that throughout the year, students may be on crutches or boots that require a parent using a handicapped parking spot at drop off or pick up.  Kindly leave the handicapped parking spaces, especially on the north side of the school for those who are in need of those spots. Thank you!

An Invitation to Serve…

“For I have come, not to be served, but to serve.”

Weekend Masses at St. James are in need of volunteers to help with the new Mass slide shows!  This is a wonderful opportunity for students to provide service to our parish community and be actively involved in Mass.  Our students in grades 6, 7, and 8 can earn service hours for volunteering! Students in grades 4 or 5 are welcome to assist at a weekend Mass with a parent.

Students who are interested should talk with Mrs. Zebron.  We will first schedule you to operate the slide show during our regularly scheduled Friday morning school Mass so that you feel comfortable volunteering at one of our six weekend Masses.

Middle school students who are already prepared to serve in this role and parents who are interested in serving with their grade 4 or 5 student, please visit the volunteer page here.  Thank you!

Don’t let this opportunity pass! The online auction has been reopened and will remain open until November 25.

There are still spots available for class parties from the Jubilation auction! Good news! Many of the parties land on Christmas Break, where kiddos will have extra time for fun!  (and parents may need a breather!)
All of the parties have been graciously donated and coordinated by SJS parents, let’s show our support by participating while also raising money for the many wonderful charities supported by Jubilation.
So please, step right up and sign up for your spot at a party today! Visit

A huge thank you to our Hospitality Committee for putting together a well-deserved luncheon for our SJS teaching staff last Thursday.

With a long night of conferences ahead of them, our teachers were treated to a delicious meal and desserts.

Our Hospitality Chairpersons, Cheryl Bayer, Kristen Wentink, and Mary Reddin, coordinated an army of volunteers who contributed to make this luncheon a success!

Did you know? The Hospitality Committee is busy throughout the year: Back to School Luncheon, Welcome Back Coffee for Parents, November Parent Teacher Conference Luncheon, Teacher Appreciation Luncheon in May.

These events are made possible by contributions to the FSA through the Annual Fund and social fundraisers like Comedy Night, Daddy Daughter Dance, and Ladies Night Out.

Thank you to all families who contribute!
